Events

Lift promoted its work at the following events during 2005-2006.

·	Saturday 11th February 2006: “Edutainment-4-Education”. A fundraising event for New Mind School featuring performances by upcoming and established artists including Ms Dynamite.

·	Saturday 10th December 2005: “Who Will Save The Black Child?”. An educational event with a keynote address from Minister Shahid Muhammad, author and teacher from Chicago, Illinois

·	Saturday 24th September 2005: Moving Millions. An edutainment event.

·	Sunday & Monday 28th & 29th August 2005. Notting Hill Carnival. A great opportunity for Lift Registered members to collect funds. Contact Lift: 020 7978 9978

·	Saturday 20th August 2005: Women In support Of The Millions More Movement. An all women’s event at 3-5 Hinton Road, Brixton, London SE24 0HJ.

·	Saturday 13th August 2005: Garvey's Black Star Line Sistrens' Family Day Out. 'Windrush Square' opposite Brixton Town Hall from 12 noon to 8pm.

·	Saturday 30th July 2005: FUN IN THE PARK organised by Lift. A day of events for children at Brockwell Park, London SE24. “Young Entrepreneurs’ Zone”... a marquee of business enterprises ran by children aged 7-16, chaperoned by successful business men and women.

·	Saturday 16th July 2005: “Honouring Black Men in Our Community”. A celebration of the achievements of black men in the community. 3-course dinner, presentation and entertainments. 3-5 Hinton Road, Brixton, London SE24 0HJ. Tel.: 020 7501 9800

·	Saturday & Sunday 9th & 10th July 2005: Lewisham Peoples Day, Mountsfield Park, Catford, London SE6. 12 pm - 8 pm.

·	Saturday 2nd July 2005: African Remembrance Day. Hackney Town Hall, Mare St, Hackney, London E8, 12 noon - 7 p.m. Admission free.

·	Sunday 26th June 2005: Aspirations, a Black Enterprise Expo, Olympia, London W14. 10.30 a.m. - 7.30 p.m.

·	Saturday 25th June 2005: National Supplementary Schools Awards: Hilton Hotel, Park Lane, London W1. Tickets are £85 and will include a 3-course dinner, awards ceremony, gala showcase and dance. To purchase tickets, please call the ticket hotline: 020 7923 3878

·	Tuesday 14th June: National Black Women’s Network (NBWN). Chlli Chutney Restaturant, Streatham SW16.

·	Saturday 11th June 2005: Afruika Bantu Saturday School Education Forum, St Martin’s Community Centre, Tulse Hill, London

·	Sunday 29th May 2005: Official Lift Launch, 3-5 Hinton Road, London SE24 0HJ

·	Saturday 28th May 2005: African Liberation Day (ALD), Duncan House, University of East London.
